Dear Ladies, pls advice anti aging cream for oily , acne prone skin.?
if you have acne you will look like a teenager anyway so don't bother

I'm no expert here so I'm not sure when you should start using anti-aging creams, but I'd say be proactive and use them anywhere from your 20-30's.

I saw an Ebay listing for this stuff and I am really intrigued by it, I have a friend who bought it at a boutique and paid a huge amount of money for it and claims its amazing. I think the answer to this depends a lot on how old you are... Retinol, while effective, is something that has to be used -very- carefully, and so I wouldn't just jump into that lightly, it can make you really sensitive to the sun and if used incorrectly you can suffer a chemical burn.
I really like Murad's anti-aging lines. They have different groups of products for early signs of aging/ prevention, and dealing with more advanced aging.
That is the problem we all seem to be facing as the little wrinkles start showing up. There is really not just one perfect wrinkle cream for everyone. Every skin type is different and you have to do some research about that. If you are near one of the better department store, like Macy's, they offer free make-over's all the time, at most of the different make up counters. or you can go there and discuss your skin type and they will help you select one. many times they offer free samples and you can use each of them to see which one is best for you. For sure, and I forget it too, but use some kind of good sun block on your face all the time.

Never go to bed wearing make up. It must come off. I cleanse my face with tearless baby shampoo and it works a dream. I mosturize with an inexpensive Vitamin A cream I get from Vitamin World. Small size is 6.99 and it has been as good for me as the expensive stuff at the department store counters. Daily care and clean living will do the trick. Don't rely on a single cream.

Your best bet for anti aging is not a cream, it is a lifestyle. Smoking is a no-no. Diet is essential and good cleansing every every every day is also essential. Stay out of the sun. Never go to bed wearing make up. It must come off. I cleanse my face with tearless baby shampoo and it works a dream. I mosturize with an inexpensive Vitamin A cream I get from Vitamin World. Small size is 6.99 and it has been as good for me as the expensive stuff at the department store counters. Daily care and clean living will do the trick. Don't rely on a single cream.

retinol based anti aging creams are formulated for mature skin-which tends to be really dry-so if you have normal/combination or oily skin it's going to be giving you way too much moisture-you also have to be careful about how much sun exposure your skin is getting when you wear retinols outside-you should be using a sunscreen with it or only putting it on at night because the uva/uvb rays will react with the retinol causing your skin to become very sensitive-your goal should be balance-find a cream formulated for your skin type and don't be afraid to look at very high and very low priced brands-retinol is retinol unless it's prescription grade so the drugstore and the department store brands are the same strength-the differences will come in the quality of the ingredients and how many other things are added to it (ie-sunscreens, calming ingredients, moisture balance or lack of preservatives) you will find the right one for you but it could take some trial and error-always give a product at least two weeks on your skin to let it balance itself out-then you can tell how it will affect you long term

I am 40 years old and have combination skin. I have a few lines appearing at the side of my mouth and some around my eyes. I have been using ';protect and Profect'; serum that has been advertised, for 3 months now, i am nearly at the end of my second bottle, and to be honest, i cannot see much improvement. I have also been using the ';No7 Uplifting day and night cream, although i find them a little bit greasy on my skin. There are so many creams and lotions out there which is so confusing. I worry about doing more harm than good to my skin, trying different products, but if you dont, how will you know which one to try. Also, remember...The stupid sun is responsible for 80% of visible aging!! 80%!!! So pamper yourself and get you some old lady cream and some daily broad spectrum block (neutrogena with helioplex is best for the price)...and trust me...you will look like that FOREVER.

There are no studies indicating that using an Anti-aging cream in your 20's will have any adverse effects. With that said there are studies that show that over exfoliation of the skin using too many AHA's and too much scrubbing will prematurely age the skin. As far as anti-aging antioxidants and peptides there have been no studies showing that early usage will damage your skin. With that said, some anti-aging creams will do nothing for you in your 20's. You can spend a lot on an anti-aging cream but if you don't have wrinkles or discoloration to address then you won't see any results you'll just be giving your skin a little bit more ';nutrition';. So, don't waste your money on crap that cost 100's of dollars, because they don't do any more than a good old moisturizer will do for you, is to soften the look of wrinkles.

I do not think it has been conclusively proven that using wrinkle cream prevents wrinkles, but I do it regardless - Retin A (tretinoin generic) around the eyes to prevent crows feet and on the forehead. No...you need to use it BEFORE you get wrinkles! The younger you start the better.
